- 1 x 20oz. Cardillo Premium Frozen Pizza Dough
- 3 Tbls. Butter
- 2 x 8oz. Cream cheese packs
- 3/4 Cup chopped walnuts
- 4 Tbls brown sugar
- 1 Cup canned pineapple tidbits (drained)
- 15oz. Can of dark cherries (drained)
- 1/2 Cup raisins
- Cinnamon to sprinkle on top
Use a 14”X2” round pan. Brush the bottom and sides with melted butter. Stretch one 20oz. Cardillo Pizza Dough so the dough covers the bottom and 1.5 inches up sides of the pan. Using a fork, randomly poke in the dough to prevent bubbles from forming during cooking. Brush melted butter on the surface of the stretched dough. Set aside and allow to rise for 2 hours.
Cream together two 8 oz. packs of cream cheese with 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar. Stir in 3/4 cup of chopped walnuts. Set aside.
After the dough has risen 2 hours, preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
When the oven is ready, prebake the pizza dough about 4 minutes until the top edge of the crust is lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Then flip pizza dough over onto a metal rack or a cutting board and allow to completely cool off. Then flip the pizza dough back to original top-side-up starting position into the pan.
Spread cream cheese mixture on surface of the precooked dough leaving 1/2 inch boarder around edge.
Sprinkle with any combination of dried or canned fruit; we use one cup canned pineapple tidbits, one 15oz. can of dark cherries and a 1/2 cup of raisins. Make sure fruit is THOROUGHLY DRAINED. (If using apples, sauté in butter till softened.) Lastly, sprinkle the entire top lightly with cinnamon and brown sugar.
Place the pizza into the oven and bake until the crust is golden brown; about 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove the Pizza Dolce from the oven, slide it out of the pan and cool before serving so filling settles.
